Keeping Ontario Beautiful

Welcome to the East York Garden Club

Get those troublesome gardening questions answered at our next meeting, on February 18, when we'll have our annual Master Gardeners Question-and-Answer session. This meeting will also feature our second People's Choice Photo Contest for 2010 – the subject this month is "Around The House".

You can find our complete 2010 program schedule here.

Information about EYGC competitions in 2010 are available on our Flower Show schedule pages and our Photography Contest page.

The Winter edition of the Trillium, the newsletter of the Ontario Horticultural Association is now available. Click here to take a look at it.

Winners of the 2009 East York Blooming Contest can be found on the Blooming Contest pages.

The Stan Wadlow Rockery is a community project sponsored by the East York Garden Club (you can see it in the pictures at the top of this page). To volunteer or to donate, please contact us.

Another insect pest has made its way to the Toronto area. The Emerald Ash Borer, first seen in southern Michigan in 2002, and in Windsor in 2003, has been detected in a wooded area near Sheppard Avenue and Highway 404. You can read more about it here, here and here.

Remember, you can stay up-to-date on all the latest gardening happenings by checking our Upcoming Events page regularly.

Regular meetings of our club are held on the third Thursday of each month (except for August and December). Except for the July meeting, they're held in the Stan Wadlow Clubhouse, 373 Cedarvale Avenue at 7:30 p.m.
