June 2010 Flower Show
The June Flower Show takes place at our monthly meeting held on June 17. Entry time is 6:30 p.m. to 7:10 p.m. Judging begins at 7:15 p.m. sharp. Our design theme this year is "Life is Beautiful". Listed below are the categories for the show.
SECTION A – CUT SPECIMENS
- Aquilegia (Columbine), 1 stem
- Aruncus, (Goatsbeard), 1 stem, not to exceed 1 metre
- Clematis, with leaves, 1 stem
- Hosta, one cultivar, 3 leaves
- Hosta, 3 cultivars, one leaf each cultivar
- Hosta, small or miniature, 1 leaf
- Dianthus (Pinks), 3 stems
- Hemerocallis (Daylily), 1 stalk
- Iris, bearded, 1 stalk
- Iris, bearded, 2 stalks
- Iris, Siberian, 1 stalk
- Iris, Siberian, 3 stalks
- Iris, any other variety
- Lilium (Lily), 1 stalk
- Peony, single, 1 bloom

SECTION C – FRUITS & VEGETABLES
- Rhubarb, 3 stalks, on a plate (trim stalks to a 2.5 cm fan)
- Herbs, 3 or more varieties, displayed in water, must be named
- Any other fruit or vegetable, 1 to 3

b) Novice exhibitors (A person who has not yet won a first-place ribbon in a design category at an EYGC flower show.)
- On the Beach – A Design Incorporating Driftwood
- Fishing – A Design to Include a Fish Hook or Lure
- Reflections – A Design With a Mirror
- Rolled by the Waves – A Miniature Design Including a Pebble(s) (maximum dimensions 12.7 cm)
